Abstract: A structural analysis of the isolated PsbO protein by FTIR spectroscopy, reporting detailed secondary structure quantification and changes in the secondary structure contents of the protein attributed to the effect of calcium (Ca2+), is presented. It is also shown that calcium modulates the structure of PsbO and this effect will be important for further functional studies.
