The effectiveness of coordinated care for people with chronic respiratory disease

A control study of patients with acute respiratory conditions living in western and northern Adelaide, Australia, was conducted in 1999 to determine if coordinated care would reduce the need for hospitalization. The results of the study suggest that coordinated care given to patients with chronic respiratory disease did not affect hospitalisation and are associated with an improvement in some quality-of-life measures.
