Structural and magnetic characterization of ion-beam deposited NiFe/Ni(sub x)Fe(sub 1-x)O composite films

Abstract: Structural and magnetic properties of the nanocomposite films of Ni80Fe20 fabricated with oxygen content in the deposition assist beam ranging from 0% to 55%are discussed. It is surmised that the ferromagnetic metallic phase of the film exists in the thin regions between the insulating antiferromagnetic nanocrystallites.
