Supramolecular helical stacking of metallomesogens derived from enantiopure and racemic polycatenar oxazolines

The use of metal coordination has allowed the preparation of polycatenar oxazoline complexes that show columnar mesophases with a helical organization within the column. A significant example of a successful combination of coordination chemistry and liquid crystal self-organization processes to achieve and control supramolecular helical architectures.
