Abstract: The process of preparing molecularly ordered layered silicate-surfactant mesophases from the stepwise phase transformation of surfactant-silicate composites is described. The resulted calcined molecularly ordered layered mesoporous silica exhibit structurally well-ordered domains with relatively high surface area and pore volume.
