Abstract

A continuum design sensitivity analysis theory for dynamic frequency response of structural systems is developed. This must allow implementation using existing finite element codes. The Cosmic/Nastran finite element codes were chosen for the study. Results show that when perturbation ratio is large, design sensitivity does not agree with finite difference results. Design sensitivity results are more accurate when evaluated with better finite element analysis results.
