Abstract

The aim of the study was to evaluate the combined effect of several environmental factors on bone mineral density in a group of highly active young women. Yannakoulia et al., found that a group of elite professional female dancers who practiced long-term intensive exercise had higher total and regional BMD values compared to an age- and weight-matched reference population.
