Abstract

IBM's graphical user interface-based operating system is called OS/2 and its Second version came on the market in late Mar 1992. OS/2 makes good use of the 32-bit microprocessor chips in 386 and 486 computers. OS/2 2.0 allows users to employ programs based on MS-DOS and Windows with software specially written for OS/2. The system comes with an interactive tutorial. The OS/2 allows a mixed group of application programs based on DOS, Windows or OS/2 to be run at the same time.
