Write field analysis in perpendicular recording using three-dimensional micromagnetic simulation

Abstract: The effect of the magnetic properties and head geometry on the write head field is examined with a three-dimensional (3D) micromagnetic perpendicular recording model. The maximum write field is found to be 0.73 Bs for parameters characteristic of 200 Gbit/in(super 2).
