Abstract: Two different kinds of strong interactions between alpha,omega-diiodoperfluoroalkane and oxygen that pack in an analogous fashion are presented. Hexamethylphosphoramide (HMPA), a useful electron donor that is involved in two electron donor-acceptor bonds to halogen is reported.
