Abstract: The chemical bonding in SiCN(AIY)O nanometric was investigated by using x-ray photoemission spectroscopy. The analysis and results show good agreement with the formation of an YSiA1ON(C) vitreous phase at the surface of the powder grains at 1600 degreeC.
