Abstract

Employers are devoting a lot of time and resources to develop solutions for controlling spiraling health care costs, lost time, and reduced employee productivity. These solutions are often applied independently of one another. Work and health are often interconnected with elements of corporate culture, comprising employee motivation and expectations, the organization's benefits, corporate health and safety practices. Employers need o explore these elements to develop a comprehensive absence management plan that prevents productivity from going down.
