Devonian hyoliths from Bolivia

Abstract: Two orthothecid genera, Bolitheca n. gen. (type species Orthotheca steinmanni Knod, 1908) and Neobactrotheca n. gen. (type species Neobactrotheca pharetra n. sp.) are described from Bolivian rocks of Emsian and Eifelian age. Two incomplete and poorly preserved hyolithids are also described, one tentatively assigned to the family Pauxillitidae. Because so few specimens are known, it is not possible to compare Bolivian Devonian hyoliths with faunas from other regions, which are also poorly known.
