Dances about Spain: Censorship at the Federal theatre project

An assessment of the effect internal censorship at the Federal Theatre Project had on the dance productions about the events of the Spanish civil war is presented. Guns and Castanets and Adelante under the scrutiny of the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) of the Congress had to undergo alternations to nullify the political aspects of the ballet.
