Abstract: Spherical, ferromagnetic FePt nanoparticles with a particle size of 3 nm is prepared by the simultaneous polyol reduction of Fe(acac)(sub 3) and Pt(acac)(sub 2) in phenyl ether in the presence of the oleic acid and oleylamine. The x-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy indicated that the FePt particles are not affected by ligands replacement.
