Abstract

A series of three-dimensional (3D) novel coordination polymers M(bpdc)1.5(H2O).0.5DMF (where M=Tb, Ho, Er or Y) is synthesized by reaction of the rare earth ions (M(super 3+)) with 4,4'-biphenyldicarboxylic acid (H2bpdc) in a mixed solution of N,N'-dimethylformamide (DMF) and C2H5OH. These polymers possess the same 3 dimensional architectures and crystallize in monoclinic space group C2/c.
