Direct thrombin inhibitors

Four parenteral direct thrombin inhibitors (DTIs), which constitute a new group of anticoagulants, sanctioned by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in North America are examined. Conclusions reveal that no DTIs have substantially proved to be effective and safe for prolonged treatment following severe coronary syndromes.
