Abstract: Heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration manufacturers may want to support the use of demand-side management (DSM) by electric utilities, according to Joe Van den Berg, who spoke at a meeting of the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute. DSM would not only provide utilities with a way to balance electricity generating loads, it would also help stimulate the energy retrofit market.
