Abstract

The psychological effects of long-term aerobic training were assessed in 87 sedentary older group and compared with a nonexercising control group. The exercising group were found to have had bettercardiovascular fitness and a positive disposition in a self-reported survey after a 12-month period. The difference in cognitive function measures was found to be insignificant in the light of the decline in performance from pre- to post-testing in the control group.
