Abstract

The UK's chief inspector of schools, David Bell proposed in 2004 that schools would only receive a couple of days' warning for an inspection and hence give governors little time to think on presentation details. Authorities assume that the inspector's first job would be to judge the accuracy of the school's self-evaluation that would include parents' views at the highest priority.
