Abstract
- The ratio of Cu and Ga are changed to acquire four electrons in order to tune the primitive composition of the ternary Mg2Cu6Ga5 phase to a quasicrystalline approximant. However, these efforts produce the Mg35Cu24Ga53 compound consisting of a three-dimensional cubic network, whose synthesis, structure and bonding analysis are presented.
