Tests, not literacy, should be consigned to the bog

An analysis of the 'Waiting for a Jamie Oliver: Beyond Bog-standard Literacy' collection produced by the National Centre for Language and Literacy. It is argued that the work is muddle-headed, that while there may be some bad literacy teachers, there is no real problem with the current National Literacy Strategy and that the real problem is having to prepare children to take Sats.
