Abstract
- Enrichment cultures of pseudomonads capable of transforming or degrading quinolines were established from creosote-contaminated soil. The selected bacteria were able to degrade quinoline, isoquinoline and 6-methylquinoline in reactions which produced monohydroxylated metabolites. In addition, the quinoline-degrading microorganisms retained their degradative ability in aqueous and nonaqueous immobilized-cell systems.
