Abstract: The structure and membrane-interaction properties of the peptide containing 30 amino acid residues derived from the mouse Doppel (Dp1) protein (mDp1(1-30)) are investigated. The results show a possible channel formation mechanism for the unprocessed Dpl protein that might be related to toxicity through direct cell membrane interaction and damage.
