Abstract

An experimental study on how oxygen content affects the behavior of YBa2Cu3O(7-x) superconducting thin films fabricated via dc sputtering under high oxygen pressures was conducted. The films, which are of the (001), (110) and (103) oriented epitaxial types, were subjected to a deoxygenation-oxygenation process in a microwave oxygen plasma during which its transition temperature and normal-state resistivity (rho(T)) were measured. The results demonstrated a linear dependence of rho(T > 150K) with an oxygen deficiency of 0.1.
