Abstract

The deposition of high-critical temperature yttrium barium copper oxide thin films on a LaMgAl11O19 substrate material prepared by a pulsed laser ablation method is discussed. The superconductivity of the films and the structure and quality of the substrates were determined by four-probe resistivity and susceptibility measurements and x-ray diffraction. The utility of the new substrate for high frequency applications was demonstrated.
