Abstract
- Police raids on The Family, a religious sect, in Argentina, have resulted in the arrest of 30 adults, with 17 held on a range of charges from racketeering to violation of the rights of children. The sect, also known as the Children of God, has been accused of encouraging under age sex, and the Argentine police claim videos seized in the arrests show evidence of children being used for pornography. The sect was set up by David Brant Berg in California in 1969, and his writings condone under-age sex. Family members claim policy has changed, while some ex-members claim this is not so.
