Abstract

Three metallo-benzoylbiliverdins are synthesized in 60%-87% yields from oxidation of dodeca-substituted porphyrins with NaNO2/TFA and air or by reaction with mCPBA/pyridine and air. The X-ray structures of two of the complexes and the electrochemistry of the three metallo-benzoylbiliverdins are discussed.
