Abstract

The electrochemistry and spectroelectrochemistry of meso-substituted free-base corroles, and the prevailing mechanisms for the oxidation and reduction of (Cor)H3 in the two solvents are described. The electrochemistry of (Cor)H3 is dominated by the redox reactions of ((super .)Cor)H2, [(Cor)H2](super -), and [(Cor)H4](super +).
