Abstract

The creation of C+.G.C and T.A.T base triads result in the reaction between oligodeoxyribopyrimidines and the homopurine strand of an oligodeoxyribopurine.oligodeoxyribopyrimidine duplex. An oligodeoxyribopyrimidine with N4-(3-acetamidopropyl)cytosine and the duplex reveal the creation of a triplex. The C.G base pair of the duplex reacts with the side chains of N4-(3-aminopropyl)C or N4-(3-acetamidopropyl)C in a particular fashion. The base reacts with C.G and T.A base pairs due to the shape-selective identification in 4-(3-benzamidophenyl)imidazole and not due to particular hydrogen-bonding reactions.
