Abstract

Propane and n-butane inhibit methyl tertiary butyl ether oxidation by n-alkane-grown Pseudomonas putida strain. It was demonstrated that alkane hydroxylase activity was induced by both the gases and the same enzyme system used for the oxidation of n-octane was used for oxidation of both the gases.
