Abstract: The aglycone is biosynthesized by the sequential condensation of acyl thioesters catalyzed polyketide synthases (PKS). The results show that the linear polyketide chain 8 can serve as a chemically competent substrate for macrolide glycosyltransferase discovery of an auxiliary protein (DesVII).
