Abstract

Several fashion companies went public successfully in 1993, and analysts predict that more will choose to do so in 1994. Those most likely to offer their stock are the smaller, growing companies in need of capital to further expansion plans. The decision by Donna Karan Co to retract its decision to go public earlier in 1993 surprised some industry observers, and caused some companies to doubt the idea.
