Abstract

Elvis, a Welsh corgi, is featured in a math problem, in which a tennis ball is thrown from water's edge point A to a point B in the water. The dog runs along the shore and then swims to the ball at point B. Students using statistics and other tests are able to show that Elvis selected a very good path, but cannot conclusively say that the path selected was the optimal path.
