Abstract

The hotel/gaming industry has improved in 1994, with gambling areas leading the way. Rapid growth in Las Vegas, NV, has spurred the growth of new casino-hotels, such as the M-G-M Grand resort and Mirage's Treasure Island. Native Americans have won the right to open casinos on their lands, and experienced firms are building their facilities. Older, established gaming areas, such as Atlantic City, FL, have made changes to meet competition and increase their market share.
