Abstract

The market for data base and information services in South Korea is growing. The entire information services market reached $269.4 million in 1992 and will reach an estimated $558.7 million in 1996 after annual growth of 20%. The corresponding figures for the database portion of the market are $90.8 million for 1992 and an estimated $188.4 million for 1996 after 20% annual growth. The figures reflect the growth of the online and magnetic tape data base market. The most popular databases offer scientific, financial, credit history, airline, user group and general information.
