Controversies in exit polling: Implementing a racially stratified homogenous precinct approach

An alternative sampling exit poll in the City of Los Angeles during the 2005 mayoral election was implemented and the results compared to the actual election results in an attempt to discover the accurate sampling technique for polling racial and ethnic votes in a diverse setting in exit polls. The results of the alternate sampling exit poll showed that different methodologies accounted for different results, suggesting the implementations of new approaches to exit polling.
