Abstract: The efficacy and safety of 2 infant feeding strategies for the prevention of postnatal mother-to-child HIV transmission is compared. It is observed that the formula feeding infants had a higher risk of early mortality and breast feeding infants had a higher risk of HIV transmission in sub-Saharan Africa.
