Abstract

The decision of the governments of Argentina and Brazil to use nuclear energy only for peaceful purposes is only due to democracy in these countries. The commitment of Argentina and Brazil to nuclear non-proliferation can have relevance in South Asia, where India and Pakistan are trying to augment their nuclear potential. The nuclear policy of Argentina and Brazil can be a model for North Korea and South Korea, whose persistent refusal to stop nuclear proliferation has become a cause for global concern.
