Abstract

South Africa's ruling majority, The African National Congress (ANC), is planning an ambitious energy infrastructure expansion. Top priority is connecting 2.5 million citizens to the electricity grid by the year 2000. Expansion of the gas grid, via sourcing deals with Mozambique and Namibia, is also in the works.
