Abstract

Open reading frame 3 (ORF3) gene encodes ORF3p polypeptide receptor in the outer surface of Clostridium thermocellum for the generation of a docking sequence by catalytic materials of the cellulosome. The polypeptide has high molecular mass fraction and cellulosome CipA markers. ORF3p does not bind 2- to 4-MDa fractions such as the CipA protein. ORF3 and ORF3p may be renamed olpA and OlpA, respectively.
