Thermal activation in KrF laser ablation of CuCl

Abstract: Quartz-crystal microbalance monitors the ablation in CuCl samples and derives the plot of single-pulse mass removal versus incident fluence. An Arrhenius-like exponential function is concordant with the ablation data. Curve shape and other data show the predominance of thermal process in the excimer laser ablation of CuCl.
