Comment on 'Getting contextual and nonlocal elements-of-reality the easy way,' by Rob Clifton (Am. J. Phys. 61, 443-447 (1993))

Clifton's contention that elements-of-reality with pre-existing values in quantum mechanics have to be contextual and nonlocal is erroneous. Although proof was presented for the case of a spin-1 system, the example considered only eight of the value assignments. It is shown that the contextuality of elements-of-reality with pre-existing values can be proven by using only seven values.
