Abstract
- A study of search behavior in ant Formica schaufussi suggests that the behavior is affected by a resource-associated predisposition that permits a forager to regulate its search effort in terms of the spatial and temporal organization properties of protein and carbohydrate food. Search behavior regulation limitedly involves individual foraging experience. Search techniques are not associated with a worker's age.
