O.J. Simpson: an American tragedy

The American mass media gave good coverage to the case of former African American football player and actor O.J. Simpson, accused of murdering his white wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her lover Ronald Goldman. The pursuit of Simpson by the police was telecast live by National TV, interrupting news broadcasts. The preliminary hearings were also telecast live and the case was given front page coverage by reputed magazines such as Time and The New York Times.
