Abstract

Pharmacists are seeing a dramatic increase in the number of US adults who are seeking treatments for infertility. The increase is largely attributed to the surge in baby boomers who want to have children but who have lost fertility in the years that they delayed pregnancy. Treatments for infertility range from the administration of ovulation-inducing drugs such as clomiphene and gonadotropins to drug products for infertile men. More extreme measures include artificial insemination, surgery for men, and assisted reproductive technology.<br />For some couples, family planning is really planned. Take Allison for example.
