Abstract

Growth-phase dependent alpha-amylase gene (aml) expression of Streptomyces lividans is increased by 378 bp fragment that involves cis-acting sequences in the regulation process. The direct and inverted repeat of the sequence, obtained through regulation of aml expression in variants, function as secondary and primary operator sites. 29 bp fragment deletion in inverted repeat sequence induces resistivity to glucose repression and maltotriose induction during aml expression.
