Abstract

A new subspace direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation procedure is developed by using a noneigenvector basis and the computation is carried out by a modified version of the orthogonal auxiliary-vector (AV) filtering algorithm. The new AV basis is used for the DOA estimation with remarkable success relative to (grid-)maximum-likelihood (ML)- type estimation for uncorrelated or even highly correlated sources.
