Abstract
- A study focuses on the enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate synthase, EPSP (AroA), which is a carboxyvinyl transferase that helps in the biosynthesis of aromatic amino acid by using shikimate 3-phosphate and phosphoenolpyruvate. The analysis reveals that a large amount of catalytic power is used up by AroA for the formation of an EPSP cation, an intermediate which is a very easy target motif for inhibitor design.
