Abstract

In this paper, we propose a method to predict the strict numerical solution, which will be given by the infinitely dense finite element mesh, from the solutions obtained by several different meshes generated by the adaptive meshing method. The proposed method is applied to characteristics calculation of several kinds of motors to verify the validity and usefulness. It is clarified that the proposed method gives accurate results with short calculation time. The method is also useful to understand the required mesh in each analyzed model. Index Terms--Adaptive finite element method, cogging torque, error estimator, iron loss.
